In the last decade of the twentieth century an eminent British archaeologist and biblical historian wrote in his seminal works, that :

"Solomon was not his name during his lifetime but one attributed to him sometime after his death. "

It is just a sentence in a comprehensively researched and enlightening thesis, but the implications of this one statement are thought provoking and far reaching:

• Who was Solomon, really?   
• What was his name during his lifetime? 
• Why was his name changed?
• What is the significance behind his new name?  
• What is the implication for thousands of people around the world, who, everyday, derive spiritual comfort and inner fortitude from the biblical texts that relate to him? 

Solomon,  plays a prominent role in freemasonry, as does  the temple named after him.      

So too does the sun.      WHY? 

One sentence - so many questions that  became pivotal in a quest to try and find answers.

What was discovered? - well, it was all somewhat different to the imagery that has been conveyed over the centuries. In particular, the pillars of the temple proved to contain therein, a virtual encyclopaedia of ancient knowledge.
